Pre Christmas Adventure

This one is so good that i have to tell it. It happened to my mom and I on December 23, 2009

I am from a small town and I was there for the holidays. On the 23rd my dog and two of my mom's dogs had a grooming appointment in Medicine Hat, which is about 30 min drive away from town. I also had a couple more gifts that i needed to pick up.

As I was driving my mom's new Ford Edge (which i love) we notice a semi in front of us shoot out a huge rock straight for the windshield. We both ducked as this massive stone was hurling towards us. It made a loud crash as it hit on the passenger side of the windshield. I was sure that it was going to shatter and we would be in the cold waiting for a tow truck or my dad to come get us. After all that loudness it made, there was only a tiny little chip in the windshield. it was actually upsetting as the noise was so loud and did hardly any damage. I quickly passed the semi so that it would not have an opportunity to do that again.

We need to get to the south side of the city so we took a different route then usual. My mom and I were chatting away as we usually do and totally missed to turn off. We drove to Dunmore and had to double back. Not terrible as Dunmore is only about seven minutes from the Hat.

Finally in the city and quickly got a Starbucks before we went to drop the dogs off at the groom's. As we were on our way an alarm in the car started going off. My mom screamed, "What did you do to my new car?" Well nothing of course. Looked down and there was a tire pressure warning alarm ringing. Pulled into a gas station to fill it however due to the cold the air was not working. So we quickly drop off the dogs and went to Ford to get them to fix it. They looked at us like we were useless but finally put air in the tires.

So now were are ready to go and get some shopping done. Hit up a couple store get stuff marked off my list and what do you know, time for lunch. Edo Japan was nice and close so we just went there.

As we were ordering from the cashier she put her hand up, excused herself and went to the back. She was weaving back and forth like she was drunk and just dropped to the floor. My mom right away went into nurse mode and went to help. She ended up coming around after a while and blaming it on her low blood sugar. I was pretty sure she had not eaten since last Christmas but who knows...

That was enough for my mom and I for one day so we went to fetch the dogs and get home before something else happened to us.
