Hello Friends! It has been a really long time and a lot has changed.
Here are some updates and what I hope to be able to do is more postings on a consistent basis now.
The biggest change has been that I now have an amazing new job. The last one was not a good fit for me and was becoming very toxic for my life. I did not realize how bad it was until I left. I have been at the new Club for almost two months and still so amazing! It is back in the Fitness Industry managing the Fitness Centre at a private members Club. I have been working so hard and loving every second of it. The days just fly by. Before it would drag along second by second each getting longer then the last. Now it's as if I just arrive and it 8, 9, or 12 hours later and I am like DAMN! It is so nice to enjoy what I am doing and being able to actually do something at work. Last place was not like that at all.
One of the side effect of this has been the fact that I have not used my brain in so long it is a little upset with me that i have been causing it to think and be strategic again. A good side effect to have but it has been slow.
That really is the biggest update but with that everything has changed. Life is easier again. I can smile longer, sleeping is AMAZING again. It is nice to dress up and be proud of myself and my work and where I work again.
Being back on top is an awesome place to be!
This is about any and everything! I would like to think that I have a higher insight into life situations. It will contain some advice, thoughts, educate, and observations of things around me. It is about friends, family, love (finding it), fashion (or lack there of), fitness, health and wellness, entertainment, pets, the list goes on; anything about my being that I see and have my own spin on it; How to make things better if they need fixing. I hope you enjoy!

Dating? Why does it seem so hard?
Am I the last single guy? Well it just feels like that.
A good friend from high school told me she was engaged this week and I am so excited for her! It got me thinking... I am invited to the wedding and I may be going by myself to another wedding yet again. Everyone else that maybe coming that was in our high school class is married or in a long term relationship (i think anyway).
Just makes me wonder why I seem to be having such a hard time date? Yes i know that some of it is myself being "high maintenance" or I say know what I want and not willing to compromise but there must to be someone out there. Isn't there? Does that mean there is no one? Or is there something that I am just to silly to understand? I just don't know. I have not been able to come up with a system or knowledge for more successful dating practices.
In hopes to find a work forward and keep going I offer this letter to the Universe and my hopefully so to be significant other
To you my Immortal Beloved,
I can hardly await the days that we will be together. We will be two whole navigate life together in tandem. Sometimes we will have our separate time to do our own things but never being the half of the other. We are and will be strong individuals in life together.
I cannot wait until we are sharing the love of a health and well life. I promise i will not call you out too much when you are taking my classes at the gym or during a workout, and if i do i will treat you to a Phil & Sebastian's as we are leaving the city to go to the mountains with the dogs in the back seat. Just don't make me go skiing or boarding when it is too cold our else i will get very grump and need to be thawed out for days.
I am excited for the times that the family will be at the house and we can have bar b q’s with the parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews all chilling out in the yard enjoying the time we all have with each other. Hopefully you will have a well practice bluff for those poker night with friends since I am terrible at it. Can you play some soccer too? Im sure it will be fine I just run around the field and swing my legs anyway and sometime I actually hit the ball. Be patient with me in other sports as I have no idea how most work, just tell me what is going on.
Just a reminder that I like hot destinations for holiday over going somewhere cold, thats only a guideline. Beaches and I are very close. Lots of great places are cool (London, Paris, New York, Chicago, Montreal, Berlin) so I would be excited to go because our love and light will keep me warm.
Know that every now and again its ok for us to have a nice quiet dinner and movie night in (we can take turns cook and clean and if you don't want to cook I will and you can clean I cool with that), with some great music and wine to help it along is always a good thing.
Please do not wear socks and sandals, crocs, or white socks with dress pants out side the house. Inside I will tolerate it cause it’s your house too but I would disown you in public.
Work hard but not too much too long and I promise I will be the same.
Your faith
Colin
I hope that this can help with what I want to find in my partner.
If you have ideas or suggestion i am a solutions kind of guy so let me know.

The "SQUARE" of Training Principle!
This is the strategy or principle that i use for any and all of my training and advice i give to others. Here is what they are and some more details about them. The four points of this square are:
1. Resistance training (weight training)
2. Cardio (endurance training)
3. Diet and nutrition (fueling)
4. Recovery (sleep and rest)
Each point is equally important to maintain a balanced square however may look different (especial 1 and 2) depending on your intended training goal.
All points must be balanced for maximum results and are both qualitative AND quatitative. Here is a little more on each how to achieve them and keep the balance in the square.
Resistance Train
Everyone should be doing some kind of resistance training no matter what kind of athlete you are. Even if you are a Marathoner you should do resistance to maintain the integrity of your postural chain. For some people that is lifting heavy weights, for others it can be body weight exercises, or TRX system (if you don't know you could check it out they are very cool. Google TRX). It is also important to maintain bone density with resistance training. As we age our bones get brittle and break much easy then in youth. Resistance training will decrease that chance. It is important to do all and any resistance training with proper technique (quality) but you also have to do the work and put in the time to get the benefits (quantity).
Cardio
Again everyone should have some kind of cardio component to their training SQUARE. It will look different from athlete to athlete but it MUST be there for all. Even if you are a bodybuilding power lifter still should have some cardio or endurance training. This type of training keeps the heart and lungs health at the minim. At least 2 (better with 3) 20 minute session of walk, running, swimming, blading, the list goes on and on.
You need to eat enough calories in the day to gain or lose weight (quantity) of good clean healthy foods (quality). it does not matter what your goal is you must eat to support it. All over our caloric intake will be very different for each other. Just eat well!
All four are important but one that is forgotten the most is the rest and recovery. SLEEP!!! Your body needs rest from training and workouts. It needs rest just from the stress of the days. Our bodies' were not made to endure heavy, constant, long term stress, they can but they are not made to. You have to put the time in to rest, and have good quality rest and sleep in order to be on your game. The rest time is when our hard work will actually pay off. That is when we get stronger, and faster.
Even though each persons square if very different from another, it still has a balance so that your hit all 4 points. That will help you achieve your goal.

We are Responsible...I am Responsible...!
Since I do not have cable when I want some down time to watch something on the TV I put in a movie or watch some stuff on the inter webz. As one of my favorite people in the world is Oprah I often see what she has to say or cool and interesting moments from her show.
During her "Best Life" shows there was a Harvard Brain Ananatismist (Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, who wrote the book My Stroke of Insight) that had a stroke and left half her brain severely damaged. The side of the brain that was damaged was responsible for past memories and future thinking, logic and language. The part that was in tacked was her present day what is happening in the NOW, pictures and energy. Her life was only the current moment and what she was feeling in and with, in and as the world around her. (Her explination how she felt is very intersted, she did not feel an individual or "I" anymore she was one with all as brothers and sisters of the world)
For sometime during her recovery all she could sense and communicate with was her energy, that was all the her being allowed while she was healing. She sences people as their energies they projected.
Energy is a powerful thing.
Dr. Taylor wrote in her book and also sent a sign to Oprah (because it was a favorite quote of hers), "Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space."
That is such an amazing quote. Here is what she meant by saying that;
Dr. Taylor was reading the energies' of everyone that was helping her recover. If the doctors and nurses were negative or just going through their motions, or just doing their job for the "vegetable" that she may be, Dr. Taylore knew. She felt and read that energy ,that is all she knew. If people are always negative around you the world itself because sad and negative place of being. If that is all you could feel why would your choice to keep going? Why would you choice to surround yourself with those energies? Those toxic people in your life?
The counter to her quote would be for us to take respsiblity for the energy we broadcast. What energy are we sending out to people in our world or to the universe. The old adige "you get what you give," is true here. If there is always anger, sadness, and negative being broadcast from us no one wants to be around? If it is positive energy then the like will be atracted to us. Energy is specific to race, colour, gender, person, animal, or plant. It is truely the international language and if we all broadcast positive clam energy to commuicate with eachother would there be as much fighting and war?
It can be struggle to remember that every day. Some days it is easier then others but still remember it and reset that throguht the day. Trying to bring and broadcast positive and calm energy is the goal, is my goal! I know life happens, it happens to me too. My life is a constant emotional roller coaster from second to second. I get passionate, anger, frustrated, pissed OFF, excited. I work to refocus that back to energy. I do not forget about the emotions or the logic or the thought behind things. A balance need to be made of both energy and logical thinking. Anger and hate are toxic energies, like cocaine and meth are toxic and deadly drugs. Anger happens but do not stay in angery place to long too long. Do not let th
All life is energy and we are transmitting it every second. We are beaming signals like a radio and others respond in kind to what we broadcast.

TIME! Not enough...need more...
It is the New Year and everyone making resolutions and new goals for 2012. The common link between almost all these ideas is TIME and sometimes TIME is the goal itself in some form.
Everyday I hear people saying;
I wish there were more hours in the day.
I wish I could go to the gym.
I wish I had more time for myself.
I wish I had more time.
Time though is the one thing that we always can find more of.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of the TV, staring at the mirror, in bed, on facebook, and just generally wandering about?
When ever people tell me they don't have time for something I tell them,
"You will never have time, unless you make time," or as NIKE puts it best, "JUST DO IT."
How many times a day do we hit the snooze button on life? How often do we sit on our perky asses and say "Meh, I'll do it later"?
It is simple really. We all have busy lives and in todays world things just seem to be getting faster and faster but if you spend an hour at the gym instead of on the couch or take half an hour to read that book you have always wanted to start will the world end? Will your life fall apart? Whats stopping you from taking a moment and making time!

Tips for Best Life in 2012
1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day, and while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. I like to take this 10 minutes (sadly sometimes just 5 minutes if pressed for time) to think of everything that is going RIGHT and not wrong and to give thanks for what I do have...so many people have it worse.
3. Buy a DVR and record your late night shows and get more sleep.
4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, “My purpose is to _______ today.”
5. Live with the 3 E’s – Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2011.
7. Make time to practice meditation and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.
8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of six. There is so much wisdom to learn from people in their 60's, 70's, 80's --take some time to take it all in. As far as kids go...try to remember what it was like to find everything so exciting and so new. We can learn a lot from kids!
9. Dream more while you are awake.
10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants. Eat less food that is manufactured in plants!
11. Drink green tea and plenty of water.
12. Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.
13. Clean clutter from your house, your car, your desk, and let new and flowing energy into your life.
14. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, or issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
